Dani McLaughlin is an Assistant Professor in the Martin School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Kentucky. She is a policy process scholar whose research focuses on complex adaptive systems, collaborative governance, and public participation in policy processes. Her research has received funding from the National Science Foundation, and has been published in The Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Public Administration Review, Policy Studies Journal, Public Management Review, and Public Opinion Quarterly.

Prior to joining the Martin School, Dr. McLaughlin was an Assistant Professor at Kent State University and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Arizona. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati, an MS in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a BS in Geology and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
