Alumna Crystal Staley acknowledged as a 'Disruptor' during Women's History Month

Crystal Staley, MPA 2007, was among the six women acknowledged as  "industry disruptors" in a recent piece by Brandon Brown and Lindsey Piercy for UKNOW about UK talent during Women's History Month. They write, "A 2007 graduate of the Martin School of Public Policy and Administration, she has served in various roles in state government for the past 17 years. And since 2019, Staley has held the title of communications director for Gov. Andy Beshear."

Alum Dexter Horne Recognized 2021 Lyman T Johnson Torch of Excellence!

"The University of Kentucky Alumni Association Lyman T. Johnson African American Alumni Constituency Group and the UK Office for Institutional Diversity hosted the awards luncheon as part of the 2022 Lyman T. Johnson Homecoming Celebration." (Gish, UKNow). Dexter was among the 2021 winners.

2022 Kathryn E. Hensley Award @ SeCOPA to Mark Birdwhistell

Mark Birdwhistell picks up another honor in 2022. This time he has won the Kathryn E. Hensley Award Distinguished Public Service Practitioner Award.

Alum John Hicks Appointed Gov. Beshear’s Executive Cabinet Secretary

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has appointed Martin School graduate John Hicks as Executive Cabinet Secretary, succeeding J. Michael Brown, who is retiring from state government. Hicks, who earned his Master of Public Administration degree from the Martin School in 1984, will continue serving as State Budget Director.
