Generative AI for Researchers — Tips and Tricks

This workshop introduces participants to the concepts, tools, and research applications of generative AI, with content tailored to their experience and interests. Covering both introductory and advanced topics, it will address the current GenAI landscape, ethical considerations, and responsible use; demonstrate QuantiCheck, a custom GPT for peer review; and explore prompt-based tasks for literature searches, classification, and regression. Advanced discussions will compare local and API-based models, showcase integrations with R and Python, and illustrate data collection and classification through AI agents—highlighting the opportunities and challenges of using GenAI.
