The Lexington Herald-Leader published an opinion piece by Dr. Annelise Russell on Sunday April 1. In the piece titled, "Although Trump may be gone, Twitter will continue to influence politics and policy" Dr. Russell draws on her research into the intersection of social media platforms (particularly Twitter) and legislative agenda setting. There she writes, "Over the last 10 years, social media has quietly, but permanently changed thebusiness of representation in Congress because how we connect with electedofficials and the reputations they build are now accessible while waiting in asocially distant line for coffee."
