Faculty News Martin School Professor Named Co-PI for New Data Center Dr. Genia Toma
Dr. Toma has been named a co-principal investigator for the new Kentucky Research Data Center, which will open in Spring 2017 through the Gatton School. The KRDC is a collaboration between the U.S. Census Bureau, UK, and several other public institutions in the region, including the University of Louisville and Indiana University.
What does this mean for our community? VP of Research, Lisa Cassis, puts it well in the press release, "This center will enable researchers at UK and in surrounding regions to have an immense economic, social and health-related impact by providing restricted access to data through a partnership with the Bureau of the Census." Having a federal data center here on campus will enable interdisciplinary research across institutions in a big way. We can't wait for the center to be up and running!
