University-wide Navigation

This fall, we welcome a new group of students from all over the world, both to the University of Kentucky campus and virtually. The newest members of the Martin School community come from a variety of backgrounds and are filled with passion. We look forward to working with them, both in and out of the classroom.

New MPA and MPP students had their first opportunity to interact with each other at an ice cream social hosted by the student organization, Res Publica, the evening prior to orientation. At orientation, students from the Ph.D., MPA, MPP, dual degree, and international programs heard from faculty and staff, signed up for classes, and had a chance to connect with alumni and current students.

Dr. Toma, Sarah, and a group of new master's students braved the wet weather the day after orientation to enjoy Asbury's low-ropes course. Luckily, only a few walked away with itchy bug bites!

New students, activities

However, the fun won't end there. The new cohort of MPA/MPP students will attend a dinner hosted by a member of our Board of Visitors this weekend. Next weekend, all current students, faculty, staff, and their families will gather for a fall picnic! We can't wait to play lawn games and enjoy the cooler weather together.

Autumn is a great time of year here in Lexington, in large part because we have the opportunity to welcome new faces to our community. We are glad you're here!
