Three students presented their capstone projects, which this semester dealt with issues of transportation, housing, and child welfare.

Four Martin School students visit D.C. over spring break, participate in SEC in DC

This spring break, a group of students in UK's Student Government Association traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in SEC in DC, a conference where student governments from SEC schools network and advocate on behalf of their students' interests. UK students got to meet with six of Kentucky's eight Congressional delegation, including staff from Senator McConnell's office. Two first-year students, Logan Justice and Siena Pilati, submitted policy briefs to be considered for the opportunity, and were both chosen to represent UKSGA.

Undergraduate Hunter McCormick's work with Government Accountability Office (GAO) gets published

After successfully completing an internship with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) in summer 2022, Hunter McCormick's ('23) work has paid off. On January 23, 2023, a report he contributed to during his time with the GAO was officially published.

MPA and MPFM Students win Association of Governmental Accountants(AGA) finance Case Challenge

This year we had 2 teams complete in the Association of Governmental Accountants(AGA) finance Case Challenge, a nation-wide annual competition requiring students to develop a Citizen Centric Report (CCR) for a large city and 4-page narrative explaining the process that was taken. This year the competition was for Chattanooga.

Martin School confers 1st public policy bachelor’s degree

During the University of Kentucky's December 2022 Commencement, the Martin School of Public Policy and Administration will celebrate the first student to receive a bachelor's degree in public policy from their undergraduate program. The Martin School began offering an undergraduate public policy major in Fall 2020.
